Hey friends. My name is Jordan and I’m the owner and designer for Foxtrot Studio. Tomorrow marks the beginning of a new chapter for this brand. Throughout the time I’ve been doing this, the core aspects that have brought me joy were to put my hands to work, designing, problem solving, creating, having fun. The studio part of the Foxtrot name applies to this pretty well, I believe. Coming from early 19th century latin, it simply means a place to study. The new shop I’m work...ing on here in my neighborhood is a house for study - a place to create and to continue to learn. Although there’s much more to the new shop than that, I believe at its core, the desire to learn is there and always will be. I hope you might also find joy in what I have to offer. Much like before, I’m making and offering products made by my own two hands or by partnering with friends here and afar to create together. I believe we’re going to have a lot of fun with this, and I’m super excited to show what’s in store. This photo is from the very early days, nearly 5 years ago, when I first started this brand. Using my guest bedroom as a makeshift workshop, I set off on a path toward creating beautiful things with my hands. Every night after coming home from my job at an engineering firm, I took to that bedroom workshop and found respite and inspiration in simply making something. Eventually this endeavor became what we know as Foxtrot. Through the years, there have been numerous changes, ...from that first guest bedroom to a room in a warehouse, and from that warehouse to our first small storefront in an alleyway in the Crossroads district of Kansas City. After a short while in the alleyway, we jumped at the possibility of our dream, a retail and workshop combined. The willingness to accept change is what has driven Foxtrot continuously ahead. This year, as you are aware, has been a difficult one. Despite the hardships, I have come to appreciate what it has shown me about this business and what is truly important. I have come to understand that what makes it special is that no matter what comes, I can always put my hands to work, . So this is what Foxtrot Studio is. A back to basics campaign if you will - a regard for simplicity. Since the announcement of our retail shop closure, I have relocated the workshop to a storefront in my neighborhood in Kansas City, Kansas. Here I plan to reintroduce the brand next Spring with new partners for a community driven concept with those simple things in mind. An experience through visual and physical mediums, and the ability to provide simple products made by hand. Throughout the rest of the year, I will only be accepting wholesale and private label requests for Foxtrot products and custom manufacturing.
