Hey you gals and guys, I just wanted to let y’all know that this weekend, while you are driving thru downtown Steelville Mo, you may see a new shop coming to li...fe. Our dear friend Roberta Gordon is coming to paint the logo on the shop windows and I’ve been working in the evening, cleaning the brick walls of the storefront. Bob Bell was sweet enough to send me these vintage photos of what our shop looked like in the beginning. The shot of the outside was the grand opening in 1904 and the inside shot was how the drugstore looked in 1922. The shoppe still has the original embossed ceiling and light fixtures, which some friends helped to restore with fancy LED wiring. Looking at you, Tyler and Lee. Soon I’ll be doing a light sanding on the old floor, applying finish and we are going to get these front doors open. Through all the bullmess of this year, I’m thankful we were able to keep pushing forward. Sure looking forward to the day that you can come visit. I’ll have a cleaver in one hand and a guitar in the other. Y’all come, ya hear. See more
