Hey everyone! We hope you are staying warm in this awful weather. We just wanted to remind you all of a few property-related things to be aware of when the temperature gets (and/or stays) below freezing. -When the outside temp is below freezing, some furnaces may have trouble keeping up- especially if the furnace in your unit is a heat pump. If you notice the furnace having trouble getting to the temperature you have it set at, try switching the thermostat from 'auto' to 'em...ergency'. This will kick on the back-up elements and help heat your home quicker. Although, we do not recommend leaving the unit set to emergency, as this can cause a spike in your electric bill. -With the several days of upcoming cold and bad weather, it also is not uncommon for water pipes to freeze. To prevent this, make sure no rooms are closed off, interior doors are open to allow circulation, water faucets are left to a slow drip, and cabinets under sinks are opened to allow the warm air to flow in. -As roads get bad, we may be out of the office from time to time, but can be reached for emergencies at 417-718-8919 or 417-588-7007. This super neighborly gentleman "accidently" lost his load in our back alley on Sunday around 5:10pm! I am sure that when he got to where he intended to dump it he was perplexed. If you know him you should let him know that we found it! Thanks also to Joell Calton for looking out for our "confused" alley dweller and disposing of this "super great mans" trash for him! Maybe when he sees this he will send you a thank you note?
