Okay, Dr K is out and about this afternoon, so we start with our nurse, Cathi Willett. Cathi is a late blooming nurse, who got her LPN at age 50 and her RN at age 56. "I always knew I was a nurse, I just needed that little piece of paper!" Married to husband, James, for almost 15 years, Cathi has two grown sons, and 7 grandchildren, which are the joy of her life. She also enjoys singing, church, reading, traveling and passing lazy weekend afternoons binge watching Netflix wit...h James and their dog, Brinkley (named after the dog on You've Got Mail.....Cathi is a sucker for a good romantic comedy!!) She is also a HUGE Chief's fan, something that has occurred over the last 3 to 4 years and has made her hubby and sons very happy!! Asked what she loves best about direct primary care, Cathi said "We let the patient and the doctor, not the insurance company, decide what is best for the patient, based on actual need, not what will or will not be covered by their insurance. This is what medicine should be. I also love that, right now, it is just the doctor and I on staff, so I have a personal relationship with every patient, as does Dr. K, and we get to know about them as a whole person, or family, not just as a chart number. This will be harder to maintain as we grow, but it is a priority for me to always know my patients so I can better serve them!!" Best memory of Cathi's life: "Well, there are many, but 2 years ago my entire 4 generation family took a trip to the beach. That was heaven on earth for me...." Cathi looks forward to meeting many more patients over the years and getting to know each of them. See more
