EYES OF THE FLEET A most unusual visitor flew into our SGF Tuesday morning: a U.S. Navy E-2 Hawkeye. While the aircraft itself is not that unusual, it is unusual for one to show up at an airport in the middle of the continent. This one dropped by for fuel. Hawkeyes are usually based onboard navy aircraft carriers where, among other things, they provide airborne early warning of enemy planes.... That big disk is part of the Hawkeye's sophisticated radar system.
