Let me introduce you to Michelle Lowe. Your online yoga instructor. "I began practicing yoga to heal my own body and fell in love with the practice. It was with encouragement from one of my instructors that I began the journey of certifications. It was never really my intention to become a yoga teacher but just to learn more about yoga in general. With many things in life you are in the right place at the right time, my local YMCA, where I work out was in need of a yoga t...eacher. I heard about their need and just happened to say out loud one day I have yoga certifications. That began my journey of the past 7 years now of teaching at our local Y. I have continued to build my level of understanding of yoga and follow up with certifications in Yoga for children, seniors, PTSD, trauma and Pre and post natal.. I enjoy working with our community and being a small part of the journey of peoples lives. It is my hope that I can make yoga accessible to all bodies." If you are interested in yoga. Or just getting your body moving... contact her. She will ensure you are Fit to Fight.

This came across my desk today. I have also included my reply. Start of post: This came up on my news feed today and I really would like some feedback. I have a couple of issues. I may be overly sensitive, I attended a yoga conference where I was continually called a white supremacist, I struggle with the term, white privlege , yes but supremacist, seems ugly. Anyway here is the message that came up that I am seeking feedback. Clean eating is a white supremacist notion. I...t villifies cultural foods that many BIPOC grew up eating. It essentially tells us that if our food choices are not alignment with this narrow definition that is reserved for those with access to fresh food and abundant choices, that we are eating dirty food. The lack of cultural competence is alarming and exclusionary. Ditch the phrase! It is just one more term that we can add to the harmful #dietlexicon developed by big business to get your money and make you feel like shit. HELLO: The diet industry is a billion dollar industry. I don't care what you call it, a diet is a diet no matter what the packaging looks like. I rebuke these efforts to demonize bodies, cultures and food choices based on what rich white men think we should eat and look like. Nah. Thank you
