A Proclaimation to the People of the Great State of Missouri: HEAR-YE, HEAR-YE, HEAR-YE Whereas the First Baptist Church of Victoria (FBCV) led by the Holy Spirit is committed to a new course of action bringing us into a closer relationship with God through a greater obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ, and separating us further from the World, the flesh and the devil... And Whereas FBCV has cut our ties and affiliations to the Southern Baptist Convention, Missouri Baptist Convention and the Jefferson Baptist Association since they, over the years have ignored significant doctrinal errors and have gone in the way of Balaam leading their affiliate churches into a luke-warm relationship with both God and the World And Whereas FBCV has been led by the influence and help of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to become an Independent Fundamental Baptist congregation dedicated to faithful obedience of the two Great Commandments and the Great Commission And Whereas, in the teaching of Scripture, we find several examples of people and places, having undergone a significant change, also received a change of name to reflect a new beginning, most notably Abram to Abraham, Jacob to Israel, Simon to Peter and we await our new name in Heaven And Whereas the name of the First Baptist Church of Victoria is a name which points the hearer to a work of man in the past and not to the present or future work of Christ Be it hereby Resolved the name of this congregation shall be no longer called the First Baptist Church of Victoria but shall be changed to MARANATHA BAPTIST CHURCH in all matters legal, congregational, and social both in public and private. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, AMEN MARANATHA!

As an annual challenge we encourage you to make a New Year's resolution as a gift to Jesus to celebrate His birthday. This resolution has two parts: First resolve to do something which brings you closer to God; Second, resolve to do something that makes you further from sin. Romans 12:1-2
