2/16/2021 - We thank our BMU customers for continuing to conserve energy where they can during this extreme cold. BMU is closely monitoring this situation and ...hopefully the temperatures will moderate soon. As stated earlier we have had NO directive to shed load at this time, we are only providing information to keep customers informed of this possibility. If we receive notice to implement these actions, we will inform you as soon as we receive the notice. BMU will do everything in our power to minimize impact to our BMU customers. 2/15/2021 - Due to the winter storm and extreme cold weather conditions, Southwest Power Pool (SPP) could start directing member utilities to implement controlled interruptions of service. At this time, Sikeston BMU is NOT under any order to do so, but BMU is asking our customers to conserve energy to help reduce the demands on the power grid. This request comes from the regional reliability coordination of the Southwest Power Pool (SPP). turn down your heat a few degrees delay the use of large appliances or turn them off shut off lights that are not needed SPP is a regional transmission organization that oversees the bulk electric grid and wholesale power market in the central United States on behalf of a diverse group of utilities and transmission companies in 17 states. If we all do our part, we can help avoid power outages during this extreme cold. The Sikeston BMU crews and staff are working during these extreme conditions to maintain our grid and support our neighbors. Thank you to several of our local industries who are changing some of their operations in an effort to help alleviate some of this strain on our grid.

Short Bio Overview: SKILLS: Communication, Building relationships with all ages, Social media savvy, Leadership, Evangelistic, Creative, Lesson Planning, Sermon Planning, History with middle school through college age students, Crisis management STRENGTHS: Off the chart people skills, Biblical knowledge, Theological training from Quachita Theological Training Institute- Testimony: Brother Max Hartwig’s testimony: Without God, I wouldn't even be here. Before I was born, my birth mother was being pressured by my birth father to abort me. While talking this decision out my adoptive mother-a newly married woman incapable of having children-overheard her and gave her the option to adopt me. God saved me through this woman and her husband who struck a deal with her for my life. I was then raised in a Lutheran church and private school until the 6th grade when my parents divorced. Though I claimed to be a Christian, the sad truth is that I was just playing church. One Sunday morning, at Board Camp Baptist Church, Jerry Roberts gave a sermon that brought me to my knees over the truth about my salvation. I understood what a wretch I was and how gracious God is for loving me and wanting me. I placed my faith in Christ that day and have a continuing desire to lead youth and young adults to not make the decisions I made, to have someone to pour into them the love and guidance of Christ in this dying world. I look back and see that my life is a testimony of Christ's love and plan for my life.
