Becoming a People of Priority by Chad Hodges, Director of Missions
Hello Church Family, I cannot thank each of you enough for all the love you have shown me and my family during my Covid battle. I have treasured your prayers. I was officially released from quarantine yesterday by the hospital. I am still very fatigued, but I finally feel human again. I had been in my bedroom for 18 days, and most of them were miserable days. I can finally talk without coughing, which is a blessing. Robyn and the boys never got sick, praise the Lord! I will b...e working from home this week, but please know I'm available to talk to anyone at any time. Chad Hodges, our Jefferson Baptist Association Director of Missions, will be preaching for me this Sunday, January 17. I will be back in the pulpit on Sunday January 24. As long as I still have a cough, I will be isolating myself from everyone as much as possible though. With the way I've been improving each day, I am hoping to be pretty close to normal soon. I will not try to have an in-person Wednesday Bible study this week, but we will be having a Zoom Bible study this Wednesday at 7:15 pm. If you would like to join us and you are not already on the church email list, let me know and I will email you the link. I love and miss you all! Pastor Brad

November Communion Service
LORD’S SUPPER SERVICE 11/1/20 1 Cor 15:3-4, 16-19, 54-58 Remember the Resurrection... This is a special week in the life of our church as we are observing the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper. The word ordinance is a fancy church term that means a visible symbol to remember Christ’s death and resurrection. Our passages in 1 Corinthians 15 this week will remind us that as we partake in the Lord’s Supper, we are not only to remember His death, but also how Jesus is alive.
Part 4 of 4 / Hypocritical People
Join us in person or via FB live on Sunday at 10:40! RELATIONAL VAMPIRES series (part 4 of 4) 10/25/20 Matt 7:3, 1 Cor 10:12, 2 Cor 5:9, et al Hypocritical People... We are concluding our Relational Vampires series as we have been learning how to handle the emotionally draining people in our lives. This week we will be discussing the one group who prevents the most people from ever wanting to go to church: hypocrites. Our Scriptures this week will show us how to deal with these people without becoming a hypocrite ourselves.
Part 3 Of 4 / Needy People
Part 2 of 4 / Critical People
Join us live or via FB live Sunday at 10:40 am. RELATIONAL VAMPIRES series (part 2 of 4) 10/11/20 1 Samuel 17:28, Ecclesiastes 7:21-22, Proverbs 12:18 Critical People... We are currently in a series called Relational Vampires. These are the kind of people who are so draining, it feels like they are sucking the life out of you! This week we will be focusing on critical people. These are the folks who can always find something to complain about. Our Bible passages this week will show us how to respond to these vampires.
Part 1 of 4 (Controlling People)
RELATIONAL VAMPIRES series (part 1 of 4) 10/4/20 Matthew 16:21-28 Controlling People... We are starting a new series called Relational Vampires. What is a relational vampire? Someone who is so physically, emotionally, and spiritually draining that you feel like they suck the life out of you! The good news is the Bible has a lot to say about how to handle difficult people. This week we will be learning biblical principles about handling people who are control freaks and try to manipulate others to get what they want.
