First Assembly of God 22.04.2021

Today is one of the most powerful days on the calendar. It’s right up there with Christmas. In fact, I think our culture does such a great job trying to undermine Christmas so that this day would be overlooked as well. Jesus came to this world as a baby so he would later become the sacrifice for the world ... Jesus Himself said, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life (John 3:16). ... But without the resurrection, neither day would have fulfilled their purpose. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. Tonight at our Good Friday service; and on Easter morning we will break down the significance of this reality in more detail. The following is from my friend Charlie Tuttle, a powerful preacher and very effective pastor. I hope you will enjoy: Happy Good Friday! This day commentates one of the most significant days for Christ-followers and for the world. However, this was a ruthless, violent day for Jesus Christ. The sinful nature of humankind would be on full display as the innocent, righteous Savior would be gruesomely executed to deliver humanity from that same sinful nature. Just as the full wicked intent of sinful man was on display, so was the full righteousness of Jesus Christ. In response to the crowds screaming crucify Him, Jesus cried out Father forgive them. Only a true Savior could speak those words. As a Christ-follower, today I thankfully rejoice for my Savior’s passion, commitment and determination to save me from my own sinful nature. If you’ve received that forgiveness then today is your day to rejoice as well. If you haven’t received forgiveness for your sin, then you can receive it now. Just pray, Dear Jesus, I need your forgiveness. I believe you’re the Savior sent from heaven. By faith I ask you to forgive my sins and dwell within me. I confess Jesus Christ is Lord! Amen.
