We read of amazing people God worked through and used as we explore the Bible. Perfect people? No, we can find only One of those, and that is Jesus. The awesome thing we can find, is how God used all these messed up, broken people that had hearts for Him. One of these is David. In the Book of Psalm, David is crying out in fear, rejoicing, angry, fighting, asking for forgiveness; a true roller coaster of emotions all the way through. Pretty normal human behavior. But Dav...id knew that in all of it, he had to take everything to God. In Psalm 56, David is terrified because he was taken captive by some Philistines, yet he continues to trust in God. And he knows that God keeps track of all the tears we cry. Every tear. The God that created you may sometimes feel far away when you are down, but HE COLLECTS EVERY TEAR you cry!! Are we not a lot like David? Up and Down? This way and that? We can be emotional beings. Sometimes, that may even make us feel unlovable or far away from God by the things we have said or done all on our own. Maybe things have just been circumstantial and have caused great pain in your life, creating distance between you and God. But the God who sent His Son to die for you, is the one who collects your tears. There is no love greater than the Love God has for you. See more

Have you ever called up a close friend or a loved one and told them you missed them and needed some time with them? Maybe it ends up being an hour long conversation just catching up. A little one-on-one with your best friend, your spouse, your child? It's necessary to do that in order to stay connected and maintain relationships with each other. In this same way, we need to spend time alone with God. In several places in the Book of Matthew, we learn that Jesus went by hi...mself to pray. "after He (Jesus) dismissed the crowds, He went up the mountain by Himself to pray. When evening came, He was alone." Matthew 14:23. Does this mean we need to go into the wilderness or up onto a mountain? No. How do we speak with God? We can communicate with God by reading His word daily, praying, worshiping and learning with other Christ followers. Many people have said they can be alone with God anywhere, that they don't need to go to church to be with God. That is true. God is everywhere, but unless you are reading your Bible, communicating with God, learning and growing that relationship, it'll be like spending the day with your best friend, but being on your cell phone all day. You'll be there in body, but you won't have any idea what is going on. See more
