We are pretty excited about the combination of the Chiefs in the Superbowl and First Friday Weekend down in the West Bottoms. Many of the furnishings in our Platte City offices we discovered as bargains in the West Bottoms. May your weekend be filled with activities you enjoy, and when game time arrives, your favorite tailgating food. Go Chiefs.

January's full moon is the wolf moon, February's is the snow moon. One of our employees suggested that March would/should be the beach moon. Seriously though today is the half way point on winter. We're ready for Spring!

We don't build coops, though we have been known to put a delightful little chicken door into the side of one of our stall barns. Still the thought of chicken coops reminds us of Spring and how we look forward to plants sprouting and leaves filling in the horizon. 52 days, 7 hours and 31 minutes . . .

Did someone say flatbread pizza? We are delighted to see our neighbor, Riverwood Winery, making the most of their outdoor space even in the midst of winter. Share your pictures of how you are managing social distancing and the challenges of the season.

Every barn needs a dog, every dog needs a barn-building-company. Meet our newest co-worker, Grace Gorman, who joined our team over Labor Day weekend. (Getting Grace to sit for her portrait involved one or two promises of peanut butter and carrots.) To boost our spirits we launched some Fall decor outside our front door, perhaps a new seasonal tradition. Stop by and visit 'The Farm' when you are in our neighborhood. Welcome Autumn! Welcome Grace!

Our flags on this end of Prairie View Road stand at half staff today to commemorate all lives lost and those inexplicably changed on September 11, 2001. May your remembrances include all those qualities we hold dear and best about our nation: our generosity of spirit and a coming together to console each other in times of great sadness.
