COVID-19 vaccines are effective at protecting you from getting sick. Based on what we know, people who have been fully vaccinated can start to do some things that they had stopped doing because of the pandemic. The more people who get fully vaccinated, the more things we will be able to do again. To learn more, visit: https://www.cdc.gov//2019-n/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html

As of January 15th, we have no new active COVID-19 cases for our residents. We do have seven employees out on quarantine due to recent exposure in the community and we have one employee who has tested positive for COVID-19 and is following CDC guidelines to recover and return to work safely. We continue to comply with CMS guidelines and test all residents and staff members twice per week for COVID-19. Our leadership team is in frequent contact with the Jefferson County Health... Department, our medical director, other local physicians and the local hospital system to ensure we are taking all necessary precautions. The health and safety of our residents and staff is our top priority. We are happy to begin virtual family connections or outdoor visits. If you’d like to schedule a virtual visit, please call (636) 931-9066 or use the link below. https://festusmanor.com/covid-19-contact-us/ Thank you so much for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Thank you!

People who have recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies in their blood that may help treat people who have recently contracted the virus. So far, over 40,000 patients have received plasma treatment for COVID-19. This treatment, however, needs the help of eligible Americans to donate their plasma. Do your part to help in the whole-of-America fight against the COVID-19 pandemic find out if you are eligible and how to donate at www.coronavirus.gov https://youtu.be/Gm7Ic5ej2BQ

January 13, 2021 We want to express our continued gratitude to everyone for your continued support and patience as we continue to prioritize the health and safety of our residents and staff. Tuesday, we finished the first round of the COVID-19 vaccine administration. 81% residents were vaccinated and 49% associates. It was a very seamless process. A big thank you to Walgreens and our associates in charge of the process. They did an amazing job with no issues. Now our nursing ...department will take the lead to chart and do the vitals along with support of our medical director, nurse practitioners and other rounding physicians. We are scheduled for our second dose on February 5th. As we start the vaccine process, this is a friendly reminder it is a two- step vaccine. We want to remind everyone that the facility will not immediately re-open after the second dose. We do need about 21 days after the second dose to allow for the vaccine to reach its full potential. We will keep the lines of communication open as we follow the guidelines in retuning the facility to normal operations. We continue to test the associates in accordance with the CMS guidelines based on the positivity rate in our county. We truly want to thank everyone. We recognize the impact and sacrifice given by all and the adjustments made in your own lives. We are optimistic as we move forward in 2021.
