Yesterday your firefighters along with mutual aid departments were dispatched to the Quality Inn on West Gannon Drive for a *1st Alarm Commercial*. 6614 arrived on scene at the North side of the building. 6614 reported smoke and fire coming from the air/heat unit of a first floor room. 6614s crew made entry into the room with a hand line and extinguished the fire. The room was being used for storage and was not occupied. The fire appears to have started on the north wall ...in the area of the air/heat unit below the window. The fire then spread to mattresses that were being stored. Crews remained on scene for an extended time to ventilate the structure. We would like to thank Hematite Fire, Crystal City Fire, R7 Fire, Dunklin Fire and Herculaneum Fire for their assistance. We would also like to thank Mapaville Fire for covering our district. No injuries were reported. See more

Thanks to Jefferson County Emergency Management we have 178 basic PPE kits containing 50 surgical masks and one 8oz bottle of sanitizer to be given to the public. If you are in need of these supplies you can come by the Firehouse bewteen the hours of 8am and 4pm to pick up a box. There is a limit of one box per household.
