Coleen (Clark) Annett, age 86, of Tuscumbia, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. She was born in Miller County, on January 4, 1935, daughter of the late Thomas Arthur and Mildred Millie Cecil (Edwards) Clark. On October 26, 1954, in Wapato, Washington, she was united in marriage to Robert Annett, who survives at their home. Coleen was an active and life-long member of Humphrey’s Christian Church near Capps. Coleen enjoyed quilting and needlepoint, making man...y tea towels and tablecloths. In addition to her husband, Robert Annett, she is also survived by two sons, Mitchell Wayne Annett and Robert A. Annett; two siblings, Linda Ruff and Jim Clark; and numerous family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Glenda Wilson and Orville Clark. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Saturday, March 27, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Russell Cobb officiating. Robert Bob Asberry, age 68, of Meta, passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was born in Van Buren on November 1, 1952, son of the late Ralph and Leona (Fox) Asberry. On November 16, 1983, in Dixon, Robert was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Wilson, who survives at their home. Bob retired from Taos Construction after 26 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors mowing the lawn and gardening. In add...ition to his loving wife, Joyce Asberry, he is also survived by three children, Rusty Asberry, Robert Joe Asberry, and Jennifer Asberry; three grandchildren, Tanner Asberry, Kenzie Asberry, and Rordan Mihalevich; two sisters, Shirley Hahn and Alberta Flowers; mother-in-law, Jo Ann Wilson; and numerous family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Asberry. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services immediately following at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, March 24, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta with Bro. Manuel Seaton officiating. Bonnie Lou Rodden, age 73, of Brumley, passed away on Friday, March 12, 2021, at University Hospital in Columbia. She was born in Miller County on July 13, 1947, daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Grosvenor) Luttrell. On October 10, 1964, in Tuscumbia, Bonnie was united in marriage to Junior Rodden, who survives at their home. Bonnie had a green thumb in gardening and enjoyed tending to her flower beds in her spare time. She was an active member of the Brumley Fireflies for... many years. Bonnie, along with her husband Junior, owned and operated JR’s Quick Mart in Brumley, serving the community for numerous years. Bonnie was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Bibleway Church, where she enjoyed playing the piano. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, who fondly called her mammaw. In addition to her husband, Junior Rodden, she is also survived by two children, Donna Moss and husband Dallas and Robert Rodden and wife Holly both of Brumley; six grandchildren, Adam Moss (Sara), Matt Moss (Brittany), Amber Kiser (Brien), Ally Rodden, Emma Rodden, and Gracie Bonebrake; seven great-grandchildren, Isaac, Hannah, Jacob, Weston, Chesney, Scarlett, and Bellany; brother, Tob Luttrell; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert Luttrell and Ted Luttrell; and two sisters, Verna Mae Davis and Mary Helen Malmberg. Doris Jean Robinett, age 74, of Brumley, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021, at her home. She was born in Madison County, Illinois, on January 12, 1947, daughter of the late Fred and Dorothy (Fancher) Landreth. On March 11, 1961, in Crocker, Doris was united in marriage to Charlie Wayne Robinett, who preceded her in death on November 7, 2004. She is survived by four children, Vickie Ross (Merrill), Karen Nave (Jason), David Robinett (Dana), and Tracy Robinett (Stacey)...; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Geri Bash, Vera Woods, and Becky Henson; four brothers, Bob Landreth, Lohman Landreth, Tom Landreth, and Fred Landreth; and numerous family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Robinett, two sisters, Joyce Duncan and Genevieve Beal and two brothers, Mike Landreth and David Landreth. A private graveside service will be held at Robinett Cemetery in Brumley.

She was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on May 7, 1970, daughter of Willie Witt and Susan Kaye (Duncan) Overton. Starla adored children and had a special bond with individuals with special needs. She had a caring heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Starla loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, who were her world. Dakota Lynn Will Veasman, age 28, of Iberia, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020. He was born in Sedalia on February 19, 1992, son of James Veasman and Sheri (Meade) Veasman. On September 10, 2015, Dakota married his high school sweetheart, Mikayla Lee Ann Wilson. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Clinton. Dakota was a wonderful father and husband always putting his family first. His wife and children were the light of his world and he was a blessing to them all. ...He will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, family and friends. In addition to his loving wife, Mikayla Veasman, he is also survived by three daughters, Annabelle, Willow, and Kiowa Veasman all of the home; one son on the way and due in April. He is also survived by his father, Jim Veasman and wife Shelly of Dixon; mother, Sheri Veasman of Florida; four siblings, Savanna and wife Tasha, Cheyenne, Sheridan, and Montgomery; and numerous cousins, family and friends. Raymond Ralph Comer, age 87, of Barnett, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was born on May 12, 1933, son of the late Ralph and Bessie (Bellamy) Comer. On May 5, 1958, in Brumley, Raymond was united in marriage to Lois Jean (Witt) Comer, who preceded him in death on July 14, 2017. Raymond honorably served in the United States Navy. He was employed with Brown Shoe Company in Versailles and Carousel International in Eldon along with various construction ...contracts. He was owner and manager of Rayco Farms in Barnett where he raised cattle and Cargill Multiplier of pigs. Raymond had a strong work ethic and enjoyed life on the farm never complaining of the hard work it entailed. He relaxed by watching his cattle, fishing, riding his tractor and four-wheeler. His greatest love was family, they made his blue eyes shine with joy. He treasured his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the pillar for all providing strength, support, and love for his family, neighborhood kids, and co-workers. He is survived by one daughter, Rama Parker and husband Steve of Eldon; two sons, Doug Comer and wife Tanya of Barnett and Mitch Comer and wife Sherry of Linn Creek; four grandchildren, Jason Comer, Whitney Peer, Sierra Hylton, and Christina Parker; three great-grandchildren, Bryx, Clarke, and Elyza Jean Peer along with Baby Hylton arriving July 2021; two siblings, Mick Hess of Versailles and Joyce Apperson of Eldon; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Lois, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Donnie Comer and sisters, Helen Nichols, Betty Gene Newsam and Lydia Madole. Marie Alice (Groves) Shackleford, age 85, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at Miller County Care and Rehabilitation Center in Tuscumbia. She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, on March 21, 1935, daughter of the late Wayne Issac and Marie Alice (Murphy) Groves. After the death of her mother, Marie and her twin sister, Marcia, were raised by their aunt, Ruth Grady, who loved and cared for them as her own. On November 5, 1955, in Iberia, Marie was united in marriage ...to Fremont Glen Shackleford, who preceded her in death on June 8, 1998. Marie worked alongside her husband, Fremont, at the Iberia Drug Store and MFA Insurance Agency. They later purchased the Independent Insurance Agency and renamed it Shackleford Insurance Agency. She was a member in various organizations including, Iberia Garden Club, Holly Guild, and the Eastern Star obtaining the title of Worthy Matron and District Deputy Grand Matron. Marie was a woman of faith and was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Iberia. She was an active member in the church working on the hospitality committee, serving as secretary, and volunteering in the preschool for many years. She is survived by one son, Robert Shackleford of Kansas City; two daughters, Teresa Tabor (Tim) of Lake Ozark and Susan Zink (Jeff) of Iberia; six grandchildren, Audrey Wilson (Tyler), Jessika Cook (Rhett), Nick Zink, Bennett Zink, Greg Tabor, and Matt Tabor (Heather); two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Natyli Wilson; three sisters, Mary Lou O’Haver, Jean Kolz, and Nora Bond; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fremont, parents, Wayne Groves (Lois) and Marie Groves; twin sister, Marcia Shackleford; and two brothers, Ted and Jed Groves. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with funeral services immediately following at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 3, at First Baptist Church in Iberia with Bro. Scott Jeffery Cross, age 58, of Iberia, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at his home. He was born in Columbia on December 1, 1962, son of the late Lee Roy and Judith Carolyn (Ferguson) Cross. Scott had a successful career as a chef, holding multiple executive chef positions including catering for several celebrities. He was the recipient of many culinary awards. He attended the Baptist Church and was a member of the Iberia Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two sons,... Jeffery Cross of Iberia and Michael Cross and fiancée Wendy of Iberia; two brothers, Jamie Cross and Travis Cross (Julie); eight grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Larry Bud Abbott, age 79, of Ulman, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at his home. He was born in Peoria, Oklahoma, on September 16, 1941, son of the late Dorlas and Bertie (Plemmons) Abbott. On January 14, 1960, at the Iberia Christian Church, Bud was united in marriage to Sharon Helton and they were blessed with 60 years of wedded bliss. Bud had many endearing qualities and will be remembered for his gentle soul, kind heart, humble manner, and his loving devotion... to his wife and family. He had a strong work ethic and spent many years in the construction business. Bud was a man of faith and served as an Elder at Tuscumbia Christian Church where he was a member. In addition to his loving wife, Sharon, he is also survived by his son, Rick Abbott of Ulman; daughter, Kelly Newcomb (Hank) of Crocker; six grandchildren, Lacie Christensen (Travis), Cody Abbott (Merridy), Joshua Newcomb, Caleb Newcomb, Eligh Newcomb, and Alex Abbott; two great-granddaughters, Marley Grace and Ollee; brother, Jack Abbott of Kansas City; sister, Helen Clark of Richland; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kraig Abbott. Twila D. (Witt) Workman, age 49, of Brumley, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Tuscumbia on March 23, 1971, daughter of the late Clark and Linda (Witt) Phillips. On February 2, 1991, at Curry Church, Twila was united in marriage to Ralph Workman, who survives at their home. Twila was an avid reader and worked as a substitute teacher sharing her love for books with her students. She was a faithful memb...er of Full Gospel Tabernacle Church where she taught Sunday School. Twila loved her family and she will be missed by all who were blessed to know her. In addition to her husband, Ralph Workman, she is also survived by one son, Brandan Workman (Michaela) of Lake Ozark; daughter, Lacey Workman of Brumley; sister, Marinda Prather (Mark) of Brumley; and five nieces, Taylor, Mady, Stephanie, Peggy Sue, and Ashley; three nephews, Chris, Seth, and Raymond; and numerous great-nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family and friends. Claire Lynn Kimker, age 86, of Iberia, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 26, 1933, daughter of the late Lewis and Lela (Crosby) French. On January 2, 1981, in Crestwood, Claire was united in marriage to Walter Kimker, who survives. Claire was employed as an industrial engineer with Firestone. Her favorite pastimes included playing poker, pool, bowling and motorcycle rides.... She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being outdoors hiking and exploring. In addition to her loving husband, Walter Kimker, she is also survived by one son, Matt French and wife Tammie of Rhodes, Iowa; one grandson, Corey French (Angela) of Marshalltown, Iowa; two granddaughters, Amber French and fiancé Trevor and Chasity Vallejo both of Marshalltown, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Kelly French of Laurel, Iowa; 11 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Lewis and Janet both of Ohio; two stepdaughters, Barbara Golden and daughter Heather Golden of Ballwin, Missouri; Brenda Mullen and husband Paul of Manchester, Missouri, their children Cory Mullen (Sarah) of St Charles, Missouri, Laura Mullen of Manchester, Missouri, along with numerous family and friends. He is survived by his mother, Amy Yuelle and husband Larry; two brothers, Kristian and Bryce Hakes; grandparents, Roger and Linda Nickell; great-grandmother, Norma (Nickell) Hodge; numerous cousins who loved him like a brother and several aunts, uncles, family and friends. Wilma Lee (Shelton) Gardner, age 87, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Iberia on January 10, 1933, daughter of the late Herman and Genia (Denton) Shelton. On September 20, 1949, in Jefferson City, at the age of 16, Wilma was united in marriage to the love of her life, Harold Herbert Gardner, and they were blessed with 50 years of love together. Wilma was a life-long resident of Miller Coun...ty. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working alongside her husband raising turkey, chicken, and cattle on their family farm. Wilma enjoyed gardening, cooking for large crowds, and taking care of her family members. Wilma had a huge heart and was always willing to help others in need. She had a sweet disposition never saying an unkind word about others and would always give the best advice. She was a selfless woman who endured a lot in her life and always persevered despite the many obstacles that she overcame. Her fortune was never measured in the physical possessions, but in the amount of love and kindness that she was able to extend to others. The life advice that she leaves behind for her family is face each day with a warm heart and a generous hand to remember the love that God shows us each and every day and to always extend that love to others. Wilma accepted the Lord at a young age and was a faithful member of Hickory Point Baptist Church near Iberia. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend that will be greatly missed by those who were blessed to know her. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Patricia Hill (Bobby) and Kimberly Duncan (Jeffery) both of Iberia. In addition to her daughters, she is also survived her daughter-in-law, Sharon Gardner of Iberia; seven grandchildren, Christopher Gardner (Kimberly), David Gardner (Heather), Michael Pemberton (Stacey), Geoffrey Pemberton, Nathan Duncan (Jessica), Tyler Duncan (Christina), and Amanda Duncan (Ethan); step-grandchild, Laci Cochran (Terry); 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her son, Danny Gardner; brother, Harold Shelton; sister, Lura Law; and many in-laws of the Gardner and Shelton family. Due to the spread of Covid and in honor of Wilma’s final wishes, a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, at Hickory Point Cemetery near Iberia.
