It's a well-known marketing tactic/term in the industry. Have you noticed the only time daily exfoliation advised is by brands and not dermatologists, aesthetic nurses, or estheticians? Yeah, there is a reason why. It's called caring about skin health and not trying to sell a product! Daily exfoliation strips the skin of its natural oils, which can dry and dehydrate the skin, cause breakouts, and impair the skin's natural moisture barrier. It can also lead to redness and inflammation. How often should one exfoliate? One of the questions I get often is ‘what is the difference between Botox and Dysport?’ Both of these products are neurotoxins that contain Botulinium Toxin A (the stuff that blocks the nerve activity in the muscles) but have differences in some added components that aid in transportation and attachment for example. From a consumer standpoint it can be confusing because the units differ and therefore one would think the pricing would also. It takes around 3 units of Dysport to equal 1 unit of Botox but Dysport is around 1/3 of the price per unit so in the end it is the same price. There are some more differences between the two products but in the end they do the same thing.
