Ewing Community Park 30.11.2020

Thanks to a wonderful neighbor and friend of the park, the grills have been totally cleaned, repaired and painted. There’s now one by each shelter house, ready for use. A heartfelt thanks goes out to Brad Dreyer for recognizing a need and volunteering to do the job. Great volunteers make a big difference!

Ewing Community Park 14.11.2020

Ewing Park Party Cancelled for 2020 The City of Ewing and Friends of Ewing Community Park will not be holding the annual Park Party and Car Show in August this year. Due to concerns regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic, the committee did not move forward with planning an event for 2020 out of concern for the health and safety of the community and the surrounding area. The Park Party was started in 2005 to raise funds to establish the park, and became an annual event to help susta...in the park and fund improvements. It is disappointing for the community that this event will not be held during 2020. The committee looks forward to holding future events when it is safe to do so. If anyone is interested in becoming part of the committee to help plan and develop future activities, they can contact the committee. The email is: [email protected].

Friends of Ewing Community Park As of December 2019, the park committee, which has been instrumental in planning, fundraising, grant writing, and helping maintain Ewing Community Park, has been officially incorporated as a 501-c3 nonprofit, tax exempt organization with the name Friends of Ewing Community Park. As such, the organization is now eligible to receive tax deductible donations and bequests. The original group was formed in 2005 when the park was being established.... In cooperation with the City of Ewing, they wrote the original DNR grant for the park's creation. They have continued to work with the City Council to develop and improve the park. This group has also organized and carried out the various fundraising activities that help fund park improvements. In the past this has included expanded playground equipment, paved parking, benches, picnic tables, and tree planting. Recently the group has contributed to building a second shelter house and expanding security video surveillance. Fundraising for the group has primarily been through the annual Park Party and Car Show, held on the first weekend of August. While it will not be held this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the group hopes to continue the tradition next year. For more information, or to make a donation contact us at [email protected].
