It is with profound sorrow that we share with you that our colleague and friend, Dr. Joel Griffin, is now safely home. Earlier today all of heaven celebrated his arrival. Somehow we imagine that welcome included worship music offered via a heavenly jazz orchestra with a new saxophone presented to Joel. We are reminded anew of the paradox of our Christian faith is this ability to hold both sorrow and joy together a heavy grief with the very real hope of heaven and a gloriou...s reunion. Our EU County Fair is an annual tradition, and though it may have looked a bit different this year, we couldn't miss the opportunity to celebrate fall with live music, fun games, and pumpkin painting! Shout out to Activities Board At Evangel for coordinating this awesome event!

Dear EU Family, We are sharing this information with permission from the family. This is an urgent call to prayer for our EU colleague, dear friend and music professor Dr. Joel Griffin. We learned that he was in a very serious auto accident yesterday and is in critical condition in the Neurotrauma ICU. One of the things we treasure about our EU family is that we know how to pray and support members of our community and their families. Please join us now in prayer for Joel. Dr. Carol Taylor delivered her last chapel message to the EU community this morning, and her timely words echo both her heart and the heart of EU, especially during this season: "There has never been a moment and there will never be a moment when you are forsaken, forgotten, abandoned by God or out of His sight or care. He knows your name. He knows where you are. He knows where you've been. He knows where you're going, what you need most, and He is fully capable of seeing His plans for your life fulfilled." We recently hosted a blood drive with Community Blood Center of the Ozarks for students, faculty, and staff, and our EU community did not disappoint! This was the largest blood drive in the last four years at EU. We saw: 117 registered donors 71 first time donors... 78 pints of blood collected Huge thanks to our EU family for stepping up to help with such an important need in our community! #ServiceInAction #LifeatEU
