We are not political people but the policies in the city are very broken and something needs to change. I received a call last week from the health department that complaints have been made against our venue and they have pictures to prove it. At first I was upset because we are rule followers. We have upped our cleaning procedures, incorporated temp checks, enforced masks upon entry/inside, gave masks for free, and decreased capacity. How the hell could this have happened? W...e have had at most 30 people on a good night since re-opening from Covid. 30 people. In a space that could hold 1,000. You do the math. Today we get the letter. And then we opened the pictures. It’s not even our venue. What in the AF is going on? These people are the people making decisions for us and deciding who is open and who is closing. These people are setting a curfew for establishments to close at 11pm. These people are a JOKE! Never would we have imagined that would celebrate our 11 year anniversary with a mandated early closure. It was hard enough to recover from the last shut down and now we have to do it again. It’s not fair that we followed the rules. We complied. We always comply. I wonder if this venue pictured received a letter? Thank you to those who supported us this summer. We look forward to the day we can fully return nightlife to this city and use that 3am license we paid for ~ Live, Breathe, Serve Music
