Rockwood will resume distributing free "Grab-N-Go" breakfast and lunch meals for community members aged 1-18 on Monday, Sept. 14. District administrators recei...ved word from Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) officials that the district qualifies to serve those free meals. Rockwood free meal distribution will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-10 a.m. at Crestview, LaSalle Springs, Rockwood South and Selvidge middle schools. The free meal distribution will continue until federal program funding runs out or Dec. 31, whichever comes first. Pre-registration is helpful. Missing Girls on the Run this season? Rockwood girls can still participate! Girls on the Run has adapted their program to be delivered virtually. Practices are ...45-60 minutes, 2-3 times/week, led by trained and trauma-informed coaches. Lots of physical activity and movement are incorporated into the lessons, which is particularly beneficial during remote learning times. Participating on the Rockwood virtual team means your girl can connect with her peers and coaches, stay physically active, and practice really important social and emotional skills to help her stay resilient. This program is here to help support girls during this isolating, challenging time. Registration for the Rockwood virtual team can be found at www.gotrstl.org/Fall2020Pgm or by calling 314-862-6266. There are also many other community-wide teams open for registration! If you'd like to learn more about what the virtual practices will look like, please join us for a Virtual Open House on Thursday, August 27 at 12pm.
