I hope everyone remembers to turn their clocks forward before they go to bed tonight?

You know its not often that something upsets me or gets under my skin but today something did and hopefully the person that did it reads this post because I want to let them know that on this occasion they messed up!! Anyone that knows me also knows that very few things bother me and I tend to take life as it comes....yes life can be tough at times for everyone and I have been down that road in my time also but if you are prepared to roll with the punches and work harder then... things will get better sooner than you think. I am the type of person that would give you the shirt off my back if you were cold, give you my food if you are hungry and I like to think of myself as someone you can turn to if you need my help....but.....in times gone by I would have been just as comfortable beating the crap out of you with a baseball bat!!....Thankfully I have mellowed a lot since my younger days but once again I have buttons same as everyone else that if they are pressed in the right order then another side of me is unleashed....one of those buttons says "Don't steal from me" and today someone as yet unknown pressed that button at the store.....I understand its the nature of things today that it is impossible to stop anyone stealing from you even with the most sophisticated camera systems out there and I refuse to sit behind a desk all day monitoring everyone that comes into our store as a potential thief..... With that being said I want to let the person or persons yet unknown who destroyed a table top display case to steal its contents of WW11 Memorabilia from our store that you stole some pretty unique items that will be hard to resell without you popping up on my radar....the word is already out on the streets and its only a matter of time before you slip up or mention your daring deeds to someone who is going to let me know. This is not about the monetary value of the things you stole the vendor can be compensated for that, I take it as a personal attack on my good nature and everything I have worked hard to build since coming to the USA....back home in Scotland we don't call the cops and in this day and age the justice system gives you a slap on the wrist and lets you out to do it again so what's the point? When you choose to make it personal as you did today then that's fine....as long as you don't take it personal with the consequences of your actions when I find out from someone who I have helped before as to who you are....enjoy your ill gotten gains for now but remember one thing.....you made this personal!! Fingers crossed we will re open on Saturday at our normal time....I say fingers crossed after three days from hell..... Tuesday we woke up to a burst pipe in the bathroom which fortunately we caught quickly and didn't have to much damage from the water spewing everywhere as it was coming from BEHIND the drywall...YAY!!!....NOT With the water turned off we had to wait to get it repaired obviously which didn't happen till late today....okay I thought let me use this time off... after the second round of snow to organize my office/ storage area which turned out pretty good....but wait!! Today I tried to move one of our vehicles so we could open up again tomorrow only to hear mother nature saying "where do you think you are going?"....yep with probably some 10" of snow and getting Deb's car stuck in the middle of the facility I answered..."nowhere I was just checking " Enter the cavalry to fix the burst pipe in our bathroom which after a few small holes cut into the drywall turned out to be a pretty easy fix....yay we once again had running water....but wait!! With a sense of relief I said bye to the cavalry and made myself a cup of tea and sat down at the kitchen table to drink it....was I being paranoid as I could still hear running water...after checking the main part of the house everything seemed to be okay....back to my well deserved cup of tea....I could still hear running water...better check the office I thought... NO apparently I wasn't being paranoid...I opened our internal door that connects us to our office only to discover we now also had a swimming pool.......all the hard work I did on Wednesday now became a mad rush to turn the water off again and get our many neatly stacked boxes of merchandise off the floor....fortunately the cavalry hadn't left town yet and after one hysterical phone call from a screaming Scotsman they were soon back at the door. The pressure of opening up the water again literally blew apart the stop valve under the kitchen sink on the other side of the house....water off again...new cap to completely shut off the water to a sink we never used....shop vac in hand I set about cleaning up the soggy mess...or trying to!!....4 hours later the carpets still had areas that formed little puddles where I walked but at least it wasn't a swimming pool now....all my hard organizing work was ruined and my tea was now cold ...so now you know why I opened this story with the words "fingers crossed" Huge thank you to Caleb and Jara for being our cavalry in our time of need.....
