This week I was hired by three people that were involved in car accidents that had similar stories. Their accidents occurred roughly 3-4 weeks ago, the clients were still treating for their injuries, the responsible party's insurance company told the clients that they would pay for their medical bills once they signed a release and accepted a check for $1000.00 These 3 individuals had never been involved in an accident and they really did not understand the process. Now thin...k about this, the clients had not received their medical bills yet, and have no idea what their future bills will be. Yet, the insurance company was trying to get them to sign a release which would close out their case. The insurance companies represent their insured, period. Yesterday, I received a call from a potential new client that was injured in a car accident. She went to the hospital and has been treating with a chiropractor. The insurance company for the responsible driver has been calling her every few days trying to convince her to settle her personal injury claim. This person is still receiving medical treatment, has no idea how extensive her injuries are, and no idea how much her medical bills are to date or what they will be in the f...uture. Her first statement to me was, " I do not think that the insurance company cares about me, they only want to resolve the claim for as little as possible, as soon as possible.
