Last year, we made a community altar at @opfarmersmarket - people brought photocopies of pictures of loved ones that passed. We also had paper for you to write a message to someone that passed and we placed it in there. I saved every single thing and we plan to set it up this time at Yoli Westside all day Saturday. If you are coming to visit, feel free to bring a picture or write a message. Let’s make sure we remember our loved ones and share how amazing they were. Very quick trip today. We had to be back by 9 for a Driver's Ed parent and student Zoom meeting. Scott McDonald got a yummy sausage from Wiener Wagon / Derr'...s Artisan Sausage for us to share while I waited in line for delicious greens from Two Sisters Farm (green butters, romaine, and arugula). After we finished the dog, he went to pick up our farm share from Where the Redfearn Grows Natural Farms and some delicious tortillas from Yoli Tortilleria. And that was all the time we had at the Overland Park Farmers Market: Forum for Vendors & Shoppers. Then we came home, Jonathan and I zoomed, and Scott ran to the grocery store for the few items we can't get at the market. After zooming, I unloaded and meal planned. First of all, y'all should know that we have also joined a CSF (Community Supported FISHERY). Every month, we get about 5 lbs of seafood off the coast of Alaska from Sitka Salmonsharesians. Also, I recently put in an order with The Very Good Butchers to try their vegan meats. As such, tomorrow we will get all the meat out of 4.5 lbs of Dungeness crab and Jonathan Miles will make crab cakes with some and we will find other use for the rest. Monday: Soy Ginger Salmon with some of the delicious baby ginger from Redfearn and salmon from Sitka. Tuesday: grilled chicken with salad Wednesday: BBQ Pulled JACKFRUIT sandwiches with baked sweet potatoes from Redfearn. Friday: Spinach-Bacon quiche Don't know the rest of the week. Actually, I do know we are making fried green tomatoes tomorrow. So much yum. Any suggestions for the baby ginger, carrots, and green tomatoes?
