Brad’s Atomic Grape Tomatoes. These beauties arrived to us today from Moon Girl Farms in Pleasant Plains, IL. They’re beautiful, delicious, and sweet. Great job, Brad! #eatlocal #moongirlfarm #stl #farmtotable #tomato
Black nebula carrots. The most intensely black/purple carrot we’ve had. They keep their color when cooked too! #carrot #blackcarrot #stl #farmtotable #roots #vegetable
Sun gold and cherry bomb tomatoes. Two of our favorite cherry tomato varieties. These fellas are certified organic, grown by Biver Farms in Edwardsville, IL. #tomato #stl #farmtotable
White asparagus from Freeburg, IL. The king of vegetables! #asparagus #spargelzeit #stl #farmtotable
Wild ramps. These were harvested in Fairbury, IL. Ramps have a green onion and strong garlic flavor. They’re nearly impossible to grow so the only source is foraging them in the wild. Due to their popularity, they’re prone to over-harvesting so please forage them responsibly or buy from those that do. Fun Fact: the city of Chicago is so named because of the thick stands of wild ramps (called chicagou by local natives), discovered when the area was settled. #ramp #vegetables #foraging #il #stl #skunkleek
First asparagus of the season! These delicious stalks are from the Mississippi River bottoms near Vahlmeyer, IL. #asparagus #spring #stl #vegetables #asparagine
