Wild ramps. These were harvested in Fairbury, IL. Ramps have a green onion and strong garlic flavor. They’re nearly impossible to grow so the only source is foraging them in the wild. Due to their popularity, they’re prone to over-harvesting so please forage them responsibly or buy from those that do. Fun Fact: the city of Chicago is so named because of the thick stands of wild ramps (called chicagou by local natives), discovered when the area was settled. #ramp #vegetables #foraging #il #stl #skunkleek
