It’s looking like SPRING is coming here at EW

It’s a Winn Dixie Party... 3rd grade celebrated our Unit 3 in Reading by having a Mentor Text Shindig! It was filled with pickles, sandwiches, Dump Punch, and even a special guest appearance from Lorax, Bueker’s service dog. What a great time had by all!

This week Eastwood Elementary School participated in Mental Health Week. Throughout the week, we learned about the four Zones of Regulation. Each day had a designated zone we would talk about. Zones of regulation teach self-regulation by sorting all the different ways we feel and states of alertness we experience into four concrete colored zones (red, yellow, green, and blue). The Zones provide strategies to teach students to become more aware of and independent in controlling their emotions and impulses, manage their sensory needs, and improve their ability to problem solve conflicts. #mpsstrongertogether

There will be no school (neither in-seat nor at-a-distance) on MLK Day, Jan. 18th, and Presidents' Day, Feb. 15th. To provide opportunities for the most learning possible, Marshall Public Schools will make up those holiday closures on Wednesday, Jan. 20th, and Wednesday, Feb. 17th, with in-seat learning in all buildings. Buses will run and food service will be provided as for regular in-seat days.

Don't forget there are still meals going out today and Wednesday at the 7 locations! Todays lunch is a cheeseburger!

MPS will remain all-distance learning until break begins on 12/18. In-seat learning begins 1/4/21. More details soon.

Wednesday will be Chicken Patty!
