Parents and grandparents, know your responsibility!! Proverbs 22:6 tells us to teach our children the way they should go and when they are old, the will not depart from it. A lot of times (most of the time with 2 teenagers at home) I feel like I would be better off talking to the wall. A good portion of the time, when told to take care of some chore, it is forgotten, overlooked or completely ignored, so when I discuss something scriptural with them, I tend to lack faith an...d expect the same outcome. Interestingly enough, I am usually pleasantly surprised when our previous discussion pops into the current one. Unfortunately for me, it is usually when I am at my weakest and they are reminding me of the passage we had talked about. Maybe though, that was God's plan all along. When we grow old and forgetful and maybe our faith shudders a bit, what we have taught them will come back to us. Remember, He said His "word will not return void." See more
