Motor Vehicle Enforcement has started using tire anomaly technology at a couple of our weigh stations this past monththe tire anomaly detectors work very simil...ar to the weigh in motion technology or Pre-screening devices we have been using for years. The tire sensor can detect a completely flat tire, like the tire pictured where the tire is broken from the bead, underinflated tires and in some cases like the other tire picturedan absence of tread. We all know that correctly inflated tires increase fuel economy, vehicle handling and traction with the roadway for overall safety. But finding these underinflated/low air pressure tires will reduce the possibility of blow outs, decrease the number of roadside repairs, decrease the tire debris on the roadway and even prevent crashes.
