It’s not to late to join us on Monday nights! Next Monday, September 14th, Woodwinds will meet on stage at 5 pm, Percussion will meet at 5:45 in the band room, and Brass will meet in the choir room at 6 pm. Join us and be a part of something unusual yet special!
We start tomorrow! If you are able to join us for Community Band, don't forget to bring: Mask Your own stand if you have one... Rag for spit (brass) We will meet in the theater. There are chairs and stands available. Please be sure to wipe down BEFORE AND AFTER each use. I look forward to seeing your eyes and foreheads tomorrow!
Some things you can do/prepare for when you arrive to help us have a safe and socially distant rehearsal on Monday: - Mask at all times when not playing. We DO plan to take advantage of this weather and rehearse outside when we can, but if we are inside we will mask up! - There will be shields provided for those interested in using that during rehearsal as well. While it doesn't "replace" the mask, it is another option for protection. - When you arrive, Monday, go directly t...o the theater. There are already spots marked for socially distancing. We will start rehearsal there before splitting up for rehearsal in sections. Again, pending weather we MIGHT be able to go outside too. - If you have your own stand, please feel free to bring it. If you don't, you may use ours but please wipe it down before and after use (I will have spray and rags for this as well). - Brass will have rags/paper towels available for spit. If you have your own, it might be easier to just bring a rag with you. Either way, we can't have spit particles (ewwwww) all over the place... I am sure I will think of other things and let me know if you have any questions! Please spread the word, we are going to have a FUN semester! :)
Mr. Bounds is preparing for our first rehearsal next week. We hope you can social distance and join us!
ECC Band Alumni Cody Anderson and Colton Bunkley are hard at work at MSU! Keep it up!
Our facilities team has been removing desks, rearranging classrooms, placing signs and much more to promote social distancing within our buildings. That is jus...t one measure we are taking to help safeguard our students, faculty and staff before classes begin Aug. 24. We appreciate the hard work from the entire staff who is creating a safer and healthier environment at East Central College. #StrongerTogether
