DYNO

DYNO will be shut down until further notice. We have all been in shock following the sudden illness of David Jessee. David and Jenny have been dedicated to this program for many years and it will that same dedication from others to make it work. So, in the mean time we will shut down DYNO until we can get proper supervision lined up. This is a good time for everyone to spend time with family and pray for David's recovery.

Status update David Jessee: still in the NTICU at Cox South. He still has the brain drain in, but they're thinking it may come out in the next few days. They put in a long term feeding port yesterday, as he is still unable to eat - the port is something that is necessary before he can go to a rehab center. Still unable to use the right side, but the therapists are encouraging and say he has good muscle tone and is trying to assist in movement on that side. They've been helpin...g him stand and move to a recliner for a few hours each day. He isn't able to speak yet, but has some pretty great facial expressions that he's been using to communicate with us so we know he is understanding when we speak to him. He thumb wrestled both Laura and I (katy) yesterday and best us both, which was very encouraging! Thank you again for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Mom is staying with Reuben and I (katy) - we are keeping her well fed and making sure she gets plenty of sleep and has cats to cuddle! She has been reading all of your cards to Papa while he holds them and looks them over - it does them good to know you're thinking of them. Thank you. See more

Update on my dad: He's more alert today, doing well with responding to commands and both sides are exercising well. Still not very responsive on the right side, but slowly improving. He's still on the ventilator, but in minimal assistance mode, and the nurses are hopeful that the doc will take him off tomorrow. He's still sleeping most of the time, but when he's awake he seems to be more aware and is responding to yes/no questions from the nurses.

Update on my dad: Things are much better this morning. He's awake!!! Looking around and trying very hard to respond to commands. The neurosurgeon said that he's 100% better than before, but he still has a long road yet to go. They're still draining the excess fluid from around the brain but they're talking about getting him off of the ventilator and things are much more hopeful than yesterday. Hey everyone, my dad (David Jessee) had a hemmoragic stoke yesterday evening - they did surgery to put a drain in to remove fluid from his brain. We are currently at Cox South in the neuro ICU waiting to see how things go from here. Please keep him in your prayers.
