MoDOT just informed us that they're going to be closing the Kimberling City Bridge. This will be done as soon as they get staff to the location to make it happen. It's undetermined how long the bridge is going to be shut. We will work to keep everyone informed as we receive additional information. Please help us spread the word.

Fish report: Lake level is holding right at 907, which is about 10’ below normal pool. Water temperature has dropped with the cool weather to 47 degrees in the ...BridgePort area and 51 degrees down in the main James’ lake area. Water clarity is very good. Reports from fishermen indicate the crappie and white bass has slowed down and the fish have moved back out. Crappie catches are being reported at 6’ to 12’ deep and they are schooled up over and around timber and brush. White bass has slowed down and catches are sparse. Bass reports continue with fish on bluffs and secondary points. Swim baits and crank baits, 8 to 14 feet seem to be most productive according to the few who talk about it! Spoonbill is ON. Fish have been scattered from Virgin Bluff on up as far as you can get. Most fishermen are having some success. Because of the low lake level it seems the fish are staging below the BridgePort/Cape Fair bridge. Most spoonbillers feel there are still lots more fish to come. The fish cleaning table at Cape Fair Marina has been busy! Please take your fish scraps out to deep water. Joe Bass Tackle Shop is now open 7 days a week located at Cape Fair Marina. See more

Table Rock Dam under construction (1957).....I have never seen a color photo of the dam being built. Found in a box of old Kodak slides at a thrift Store in Kan...sas City, Kansas, the store was closing in 20 minutes and the box was already in the trash....from Mike Leavenworth's Flickr page.
