In the world of wellness and holistic medicine, too often things are touted as right or the only way. Believe me, there is no one right diet, or one best supplement for everyone. Taking in this kind of information can add to feelings of perfectionism and guilt that so many of my clients struggle with. Always remember, what’s right for someone else doesn’t have to mean it’s right for you, now or ever. It is important to find what is best for you at this point in time.

Looking forward to this event with my friend, Lana on Saturday! She is a birth doula and has some great information to share about how to connect more deeply with feminine energy and our wombs.

We loveour STL local herbalist! Each and every one of these female owned herbal shops has supported me both professionally and personally. I'm so thankful to have these businesses to assist me in helping others on their healing journeys. Stop by and visit all of these businesses as they each have something very unique to offer, and we are so lucky to have them. . . . #314together #keepitlocalstl #stl #shoplocal #herbalism #herbalist #plantmedicine

Like many others out there, I started a garden this year. Built 3 beautiful raised beds in the backyard and filled them with soil and compost. It was a bit of a late start but I dove in anyway, sowing the beds with seeds from beets, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, bok choy and rainbow chard. My little girl helped me and was excited to water the dirt everyday as we waited patiently for the first glimmer of life. Three months later, I hesitantly harvested the first food from our g...arden- this beautiful rainbow chard (pictured above). I was feeling a lot of things as I tore the thick stems from their base. Excited, prideful, humbled, scared. And I left behind small leaves, that may still have a chance of reaching their full potential. We ate this nutritious and beautiful food as a delicious side at our Thanksgiving meal. What a reward! And the rest of the garden? Well...it wasn't nearly as bountiful. I still tend to it everyday; though in the end, I couldn't keep the caterpillars from demolishing the bok choy and cabbage. The broccoli never amounted to much at all and the carrots are still growing but I'm pretty sure I was supposed to thin them out more than I did. They're crowded and small and I'm too scared to pull any more out for fear that I'll ruin 3 months of hard work. I've always heard that gardening is nature's teacher. What did I learn from mine? 1. Do not expect perfection. There is nothing to be learned in perfection. Perfection is boring. 2. Relish in your successes, and never let your failures overshadow those successes. 3. It is the best feeling in the world to eat what you grow. Grow more stuff! I'm ALWAYS open to gardening tips, btw. I'm looking to keep this thing going. Onward.
