Upgraded the edit suite. Finally have a good 24" color reference monitor. (Flanders Scientific DM240). The 65" monitor above it is NOT for color reference. And you can tell believe me. But it's good for viewing from the theatre seats behind me and also for focus & noise check. When I installed the 65" I KNEW it would be very uncomfortable for me, but great for everyone else. It's been a LONG 4 years. Two things enabled me to pull the trigger: 1: It also serves as a good ...client monitor on set when impressions or confidence matters. 2: I found a used one at BH which put it in range of other monitors I saw. You will notice there is no computer to be seen. This is because when I designed the home, I planned to have the computers UNDER the edit suite. Basement stays cooler, less dust, quiet. I had to mod a few things like extending the power switch, but it was worth it. One of the reasons I am a PC guy, cause my gear is always messed with. This is my favorite room in the whole world. Someday I'll get my buddy to make some furniture for it. Looking for a rustic wood desk for this thing.

The Flanders Scientific DM240 is a true 10 bit monitor. We JUST got it so this shoot was its maiden voyage.It's a beast. Not that heavy by itself, but with the case.. Wow. I was not "thrilled" with lugging it around. But then I turned it on. DA HAM! I'll carry that thing everywhere..
