For Immediate Release: American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons New Members Announced... OVERVIEW: At the recent Closed Meeting of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), held in Pinehurst, North Carolina, October 9-12, 2014, Akin Cil, MD was elected to join our organization. Membership in ASES is a privilege and an honor. Only experienced orthopaedic surgeons who have completed a fellowship in shoulder surgery, elbow surgery, and/or sports medicine are considered for membership. Candidates must meet strict academic and clinical requirements to become members of ASES. Dr. Cil in his 7 year in practice in University of Missouri-Kansas City, has ascended quickly in his career being recognized with such a national honor. Membership in American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, which has only 423 members, is by invitation only. Nominees to membership must be sponsored by two active members of the organization. Congratulations to Dr. Cil on becoming an Associate Member of the society. ASES is a remarkable collection of like-minded surgeons, and researchers who, through their collaboration and the sharing of techniques and outcomes, work together to solve the most complicated and pressing shoulder and elbow disorders.
