Downing House Museum

The Downing House will be open for tours every Wednesday from 1:00-4:00, beginning July 22, 2020, through September 9th. Groups are limited to 10 people. Masks are optional. Tours may also be arranged by calling 660-465-2259.

It's that time of year again!

There are a few tickets left for our Evening at the Museum event tonight. They will be available at the Downing House at 6:30.

The Downing House Museum is closed for the season and will reopen in the spring. Dates will be posted at a later date.

It's time for our "Evening at the Museum" event!

The Memphis Community Players and many other people are busily preparing for the third "Evening at the Museum" event scheduled for October 19th and 20th at 6:30 at the Museum complex. This is a candlelit tour of the Museum complex in which the history of Scotland County comes alive through colorful stories shared by ten characters from the past. Tickets are limited to 100 each evening and will be available at the beautiful Memphis Theater, located on the north side of the Memphis square, October 10, 11, 12 and 17, 18, 19 from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm each day. Tickets may also be reserved by calling the box office at 660-465-2277. Tickets are $5.00.
