Good afternoon! I wanted to send a quick update regarding the next steps that I am taking in response to the Governor's announcement that all Missouri Public Schools will be out of session for the unforeseeable future. My top priority is always to maintain the safety and health of you, my client. However at this time, I feel it is necessary to help mitigate COVID-19 in any way that we can to help ensure the safety of others. ... At this point in time, I will only be offering Telehealth services (video sessions) in order to maintain continuity of care and treatment during this temporary but challenging time. This option is provided through the Client Portal System. There is also an option of downloading the free Simple Practice App to your phone where you can access this video session without having to go through your email. I have included the link to the portal system below. https://danielle-carver.clientsecure.me While I realize that this option is not ideal for everyone, I appreciate your patience, understanding, and flexibility during this time. I would much rather see you in person! Thank you for your understanding and continue to be safe and healthy. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about the Telehealth option.

Considering the recent developments within in the health field, I know that there is a lot of fear and anxiety over what the next couple months will bring. My hope is that we would find peace and calm in the midst of our circumstances. This does not mean we should be careless or reactionary; rather, we work together to ensure continuity of service despite obstacles placed in our path. I want to take precautionary measures to create a safe and healthy environment for everyone... in our community and most importantly, you, my client. This is why I wanted to make sure that anyone who is seeking help or is a current client knows what options they have. I offer HIPAA compliant Telehealth services which enable you to schedule sessions, meet together all while in the privacy and safety of your home. Many insurance providers, but not all, will accept these as easily as in-person sessions. Below I've included the online portal system that allows you to see how all of my availability, request an appointment time, and fill out all intake paperwork electronically and confidentially. Let's work together to find peace and calm in the middle of this difficult time! https://danielle-carver.clientsecure.me

Life becomes too difficult; you need an objective someone to talk to, listen to your story, and provide encouragement that you can not only survive what you are going through, but work to find purpose and meaning in the midst of the storm. Everyone goes through different "storms" in their life. My job is to help you ride through them and to become a stronger person on the other side. If you are in the middle of a storm right now and can't see your way out, feel free to contact me and set up an appointment. Hope and change happens when people work together!

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and as we are coming closer to June I felt the need to highlight an issue that is all too common. Toxic relationships exist in multiple formats and on a broad spectrum ranging from "unhealthy" to abusive. Most everyone has been in a toxic relationship in one capacity or another. Maybe you are still in one! Does your partner support you and your opinions? Is there mutual respect on both ends? Or is there manipulation, harsh words that tear... down your confidence and your spirit? Parents, teach your kiddos and teens what it means to be in a healthy, emotionally balanced, and complimentary relationship. If you aren't sure if you are in a toxic relationship, then ask someone you trust to give you an honest answer. If you aren't sure who that person might be, then feel free to contact me. :-) The world already can be a negative place, the relationship with your significant other shouldn't be one!

It's so easy to use these toxic thoughts in our relationships with our loved ones...It's also far too easy to use them with ourselves. "I SHOULD be a certain way"; "It's all my fault"; "I never do anything right." I found that negativity and conflict in relationships often stem from insecurities bred from slandering ourself with these toxic thoughts. Let's not only work to think positively about the person you CHOSE to live life's journey with, but also about yourself. You deserve better! https://www.psychologytoday.com//5-thoughts-are-silent-kil

Great advice and wonderful groundwork for the work that is done and often needed in couples' counseling. Positive communication and focusing on what you can and cannot change is essential is resolving conflicts. I would add one more: have FUN with your partner. Remember the reasons why you enjoy this person. Go on a date night. You chose this person at one point, remember the reasons why. Make it a priority. :-) https://www.psychologytoday.com//6-ways-you-can-fix-your-r
