The below email was sent to all 2021 Spring Parents. If you didn't receive this email, please send [email protected] a message Hello Soccer Parents, TEAM PRACTICES... This week players will split up into their respective teams. We will still be at the football field behind the high school due to daylight savings. Team locations are listed below in the pictures GAME CHANGER APP The teams, schedule, and communications with your coaches will be available through the Game Changer app called Team Manager. You can download from iTunes or the Android Store or visit: https://gc.com/teammanager. You will use the same login as you used to register. SCHEDULES You can view the schedule several places: 1. Game Changer app a. Click Calendar b. Each of the activities for your team(s) should display c. If your schedule doesn’t display, click on the top right icon with the sync button and click Re-Import Team Schedules d. Select the team(s) needing to be imported e. Click Next f. Click Confirm & re-import g. You may have to reimport your schedule periodically to see updates and changes which have been made 2. You can also view the schedule on the Desoto MO Soccer website EQUIPMENT Between this week and before our first game 3/20, please be sure your player has the appropriate equipment listed below: 1. Water bottle with name on bottle 2. Shin guards Any type will do, the portion which guards the ankle is not required. Many parents like the slide in sock kind. Note: Guards are to be worn inside the socks and not on the outside. 3. Soccer cleats (regular shoes are acceptable for PreK/K) Cleats cannot be metal, do not go above the ankle, and do not have a toe cleat Football, baseball, and lacrosse cleats cannot be worn for soccer 4. Ball (the ball size is not critical, below offers a guide) Be sure to have your name and phone number on ball PreK/K (ages under 8) Size 3 1-4 (ages 8-12) Size 4 5+ (ages 13+) Size 5 5. For any players wanting to be a goal keeper, they should have gloves (some coaches may provide) 6. No earrings or piercings should be worn during soccer activities 7. PRACTICE Arrive to practice by 5:30 (or a little earlier) with the below equipment Water bottle Ball Dressed appropriately LOCATION For the initial couple weeks, practices will be held at JC Culwell Football Field Be sure to park in the parking lot and not along the street next to the track. Between games, light snacks, water, and fresh fruits are good sources of energy. Minimize the sports drinks and no soda or junk food. Parents can bring tents, blankets, and canopies to encourage their players to relax between games. Sportsmanship Conduct and Rules All parents and players are expected to act respectful and represent DeSoto Soccer League on and off the field. Parents should familiarize themselves with the host league’s rules. Any issues, questions, or concerns should be directed to the coach directly and not to referee, player, or other parent. Saturday is Game Day and GLOW BALL!!! -check out your team schedule for times and locations on Saturday! GLOWING FUN! We will have LED and light up items for sale at concessions during the morning games! ... CONCESSIONS Snacks such as chips, candy, jerky, water and other drinks will be available during game time. Nothing over $1! Looking for something in particular? Let us know and we will see what we can do! Cash only at this time TRASH Please pick up any trash you may see left behind near your field. This helps keep our fields in the best shape for us all! TOBACCO No Tabacco During Soccer Events Tobacco Use including cigarettes, smokeless Tobacco, e-cigarettes, and other products are prohibited from use at all events. This is policy of the DeSoto School District when playing at any of the District facilities, which we use their premises. Secondarily, it is a courteously to others in the surrounding areas. This applies to players, parents and all guests. PETS We are glad to have participants bring pets to the Soccer Park. We ask if you bring a pet it must be restrained and must pick up after your pet per City of DeSoto Ordinance Chapter 210 FUN Last but certainly not least, have fun!
