Varsity Finals of the DKC City Championship 2020 online edition! Sumner Academy - Debate & Forensics vs. University Academy DKC staff is judging these four amazing women. We are in the middle of the negative block and it's a super close debate that is well argued by both teams. The knowledge and control of the issues and complexities of criminal justice reform is impressive and beyond dynamic. Check back in the comments for updates on the round. DKC is in need of judges! We have two tournaments this week: Oct. 20th & Oct. 22nd Both tournaments have rounds at 4pm and 5pm.... If you are available to judge, please message the page. We are all online, do distance does not matter!
DKC hosted its first virtual weeknight policy debate tournament we will announce the winners in the varsity division and provide other league updates.
DKC will go live for varsity awards in about 15 min.
Despite the challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic, we are pumped for this year's digitized debate season! Next week, we roll up our sleeves and prepare students for controversy and dialogue in two sessions: Middle School Workshop - September 29th... High School Workshop - October 1st In these upcoming workshops, we introduce students to their new topic and our policy debate league. In addition, we will present a demonstration debate, putting these new arguments to the test.
DKC is hosting its online debate camp this week! Below is a screenshot of our students engaging with three amazing representatives of the ACLU! The coming seasons topic is criminal justice reform. Our students ask great questions and have great ideas and solutions to the big issues we face as a society! These kids are on point!
