Margaret Molly Tobin Brown, (1867-1932) better known as The Unsinkable Molly Brown, was one of the few that survived the sinking of the Titanic. Born in Hannibal, Missouri on July 18, 1867, she was one of six children of Irish immigrants. In 1886 She and her brother Daniel joined th...eir sister in a mining town in Colorado. It was in Colorado that Molly got married and then became involved in women’s rights, helping to establish the Colorado chapter of the National American Women’s Suffrage Association. She also established a soup kitchen to assist miners’ families. Molly was an actress too, but what she is probably most known for is surviving the sinking of the Titanic. She was able to get on one of the ship's few lifeboats and was later rescued by the Carpathia. Aboard the Carpathia, Molly did whatever she could to help the other survivors, including raising money from the more wealthy to help poor passengers. We are learning more and more about our smart TV in the dining room. Today during manicures the ladies enjoyed watching last nights Gallatin Middle School Basketball games that the school live streamed on Facebook! Everyone thought it was so neat to see the local kids on the TV!... (Sorry I forgot my camera during the actual activity)

We celebrate every Tuesday with SNACKS! Today we had a popcorn party!
