Hazel's House 17.02.2021

Jennifer wrote Feb 2019 - So clean!!! You will not be disappointed in this place. So quiet and the hosts are kind and thoughtful. Everything we needed was provided. It was close to both the Hermann and Augusta wine trails which was our purpose of visiting the area. Thank you for a great stay! It was so quiet and clean! We also loved the special box of chocolates you left for us. We found the decor nice and especially liked the lamp made from the deer legs! You had absolut...ely everything we needed and more. The papers from local restaurants was also helpful and allowed us to order in and not have to get back out for something to eat. We will definitely stay again if we are staying in the area. Your husband made sure to clean the ice off the porch before we arrived and we greatly appreciated that, he was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Thank you once again for opening your space to us, we could not have asked for a better place to stay! See more

Here’s what Mark wrote (stayed Aug 25-27) We had plans to travel to the Washington, Mo area for a kayak race on the Missouri River from Washington to St Charles, MO. I did a search for lodging and decided to give VRBO a shot as we had excellent success with it on our trip back east. We hoped to find someplace quiet, safe and close to the historic areas of Hermann and Washington as our plans were to visit all the sites around these two towns. Hazel House looked to be just wha...t we needed so we booked an extra day and came home on Monday. Danielle had all sorts of information waiting on the counter so we could plan our trips plus some excellent recommendations for dining. I also had my racing kayak and were glad we had a safe place to leave it after the race while we explored the countryside. We enjoyed the race and festivities in St Charles and absolutely loved the communities of Washington and Herman. We visited their museums and learned so much about the history of this part of the country which is fascinating. We didn't have time to visit the wineries or hike the Katy Trail as we could wave to the hikers and bicyclists on the trail from Hazel House. The beds and pillows are very comfortable, there is an ample supply of good quality towels, a washer/dryer, coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave. The place is roomy and a great place to relax the cable TV had more channels than you could watch plus WiFi was very user friendly. You'll have no trouble sleeping here as it is quiet and peaceful yet close to Washington. There is a neat pizza place in Marthasville that also delivers called Philly's if you don't want to cook or travel give them a call or just drive the short distance down the road. The booking process was simple Danielle gave us an answer immediately when we requested the open dates so that part of our trip was really easy. I'd recommend Hazel's House for a Fall Winery Tour when the leaves start turning as the area has to be gorgeous that time of year. See more

JIM - This is a great location for riding the Katy Trail just 1 block away. Beautiful wooded location and everything was clean and beds were excellent. HEATHER - While the place is tucked away in nature, it is right off the wine trail and close to the scenic town of Augusta. There were brochures available about the different places to eat and visit. Clean and comfortable place to stay after a wedding at a vineyard or after a day out at the wineries.
