Today has been an emotional day for Terry and me as we attended the Memorial for one of the best friends of our dance studios over the past three decades - our dear friend, George Barlow. George assisted our studio in so many ways, and he would drop everything he was doing to get things done for us. Whether it would be providing sound for our parades and programs, keeping our "classic sound system" at the studio humming year after year, providing special event photos to our... parents, maintaining and programming our computers, and everything else under the sun. his work was always at a high professional level and was performed from his heart. George's daughters and granddaughter were students of mine, and George had immense pride in them and his entire family. George Barlow was a gentle soul, a shining light in our life and the lives of so many, and all of Kirksville will miss him. We were blessed to know him and call him our friend and cannot imagine the Kirksville square without him. God give you comfort, Debi, and thank you for sharing George with us and our studio. Hello, Dancers and Dance Families, I hope everyone is doing well with their "temporary normal." There certainly have been adjustments in our lives over the past couple of weeks with schools going to online classes, social distancing, sheltering in place, and . . .the interruption of dance classes. I have certainly cleaned out enough closets and organized enough drawers to last a very long time. I assure you I am ready to get back to the sound of music and instructing ...my dancers, and I know my instructors at all three studios feel the same. Although the Studio is temporarily closed in keeping with government guidelines, that doesn't mean we should forget about the beautiful art of dance; and, of course, we want to keep our feet, arms and bodies moving. My instructors and I have some fun ideas to keep dance in your daily lives. I know instructors miss you, and you miss your instructors - I miss you all! Keep checking our website and Facebook for things I will share, and please remember, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to DANCE in the rain!" Keep on dancing, Miss Marcia
