Feral to Friendly in Seven Days Meet Chip and Salsa! They came into our care last Saturday and have made quite the transformation. In just seven days of intense socialization work this spicy duo has gone from being paralyzed with fear to rolling over for belly rubs. While they aren't ready for adoption quite yet they are certainly well on their way to being someone's best buddies. ... Chip and Salsa are a true testament to what a difference fostering can make. If you have ever thought about fostering, now is the perfect time. Kitten season is right around the corner. Kittens will be dropped off in large numbers at shelters, rescues, and vet clinics. Without fosters many of these kittens will be euthanized as shelters lack the manpower to care for them. If you want to foster but are concerned about how it may affect your pets or kids, think you don't have the space, or are just afraid you won't want to let them go when it is time for adoption, please reach out to us. We are happy to talk to anyone about fostering and how to overcome any obstacle to it. Amazon Wishlist: https://www.amazon.com//wi/genericItemsPage/19UUI5PC8KT73

Single kitten syndrome is a real, terrifying reality. Max was adopted as a single kitten by a foster parent who turned from a cuddly kitten to a nightmare for the family. One is the loneliest number and that is true as it can result in what we call single kitten syndrome. Two kittens make your job easier because they will expend all their energy through play and teach each other social skills that will go a long way toward their development. With single kitten syndrome, kitte...Continue reading

Meet Sophie! Sophie is approximately seven months old and TINY. She weighs in at a whopping four pounds currently although she has been steadily gaining weight since she arrived in her foster home. Sophie has a disorder called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a fancy way of saying that she wobbles and topples over when she walks. Cats with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH) live a full life, just a bit more clumsily than most. Sophie also has an old wound to one eye that is like...ly the result of an old injury. The eye is fine but she has very little or no vision in it. I can assure you that she does not let either of these issues bother her. She does not know that she is any different than any other cat. Sophie absolutely loves to play. She is very partial to crinkle balls and catnip bananas. Sophie will require an adopter that is dedicated to her care. She will require a diet of canned food only as she is not able to hover over the bowl long enough to eat kibble. She currently eats Friskies Paté and does great on it. Sophie is not able to use a normal litterbox because her physical limitations do not allow her to stand in litter which moves under her feet. She is trained to use disposable puppy pads and is very reliable. She does sometimes get messy as she lays on her side to go to the bathroom and sometimes stumbles into it when she gets up. She is very used to bathtime. Sophie is not able to use stairs so she will need to be in a home that is either free of stairs or the stairs are able to be closed off from her. All of these things are so worth it as she is a sweet, cuddly girl who loves to play. Sophie is good with other cats since she is in a foster home with many feline companions. Any serious adopter with an approved application will meet her in her foster home where she is comfortable and in her normal environment. If you are interested in learning more about Sophie please send a private message to the page. Until then, enjoy this fun little video where Sophie lets her personality shine!

Message from Zach: Felix was dropped off tonight at VCA Advanced Animal Hospital for his neuter appointment tomorrow who has been there the whole way through his FIP treatment. Felix is now 100% cured of this once fatal virus and we have since helped quite a few other cats during their treatment journey. Felix is one big boy now at around eleven pounds at six months to seven months old. We had a Basepaws genetic test donated to us from the company too which brought to the surface what we knew the whole time - he is as Ragdoll. This will probably be the last update on this page since he now has a home with me. Thank you all for keeping up to date and rooting for him.
