Phelps County Animal Rescue Grand Opening! After months of remodeling we are so excited to be less than a week away from our grand opening! Come celebrate with ...us Saturday, November 7th 2020 12-4pm at 745 E Springfield St. James MO You will get to tour our remodeled facility, meet our board, enjoy food including hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, Country Bob's Diner LLC fried chicken and mashed potato’s, participate in our 50/50 raffle, and visit with other local organizations including Cub Creek Science Camp, Starlit's Strays TNR, Cuba, MO Animal Control at their informational tables, and of course pick up some awesome Phelps County Animal Rescue merchandise! For your pets we are so excited to have Animal Rescue Clinic doing a microchip clinic for only $15 per pet and Purple Door Pet Salon doing $10 pet nail trims! For the kids we have plenty of games and activities planned including a character from Spirit in Disguise Costume Wearhouse, bounce house, corn hole, ring toss, sand dig, frog game, cake walk, and bean bag toss! Leading up to our grand opening we are also hosting a scavenger hunt and online auction all week long on our Facebook page! We hope to see the community join us for this very special occasion!

It's just been a little over a week since our last day of camp 2020. We're filled with gratitude as we close out this year's summer program. Major thanks to all the campers and families who supported us this year either by coming to camp or sharing their love from home. We're already back to work planning for some cool things to drop this week, getting ready to send out information about the 2021 ASIT Program, and planning new Fall and Winter Programs right here at Cub Creek. Stay tight and stay tuned.

Dylan (right) is in his 13th year at camp and is leading our photo team this summer. Caleb (left) is rounding out year #10 and is a counselor for the Southern Village. Okay, brb. Yesterday was World Porcupine Day! Pictured here is Simon, one of our Prehensile Tail Porcupines. He is beloved here at camp with his squishy nose, adorable 'smacking' when he eats, and inquisitive nature! Do you have some pictures of camp porcupines? Post them in the comments below!

Wow! 50 years of Earth Day! We are so thankful for this Earth..not only because otherwise WHERE WOULD WE LIVE?! But majorly because it is the home of some incredible creatures and amazing landscapes. Every day we should appreciate the beauty of our planet and its creatures by doing what we can to keep them thriving. We can all try to reduce waste by recycling what we can or reusing things for a new purpose! At camp, we just started composting. We're new to it, but we hope t...o reduce the amount of waste sent to a landfill while producing nutrient rich product for a garden! What are some ways you're reducing, reusing, or recycling?
