I like the ground crew person trying to stop the slide! Wheel chocks don’t work so well on the ice, particularly when the plane’s tires slide sideways out of them due to the wind. Yikes!

Remembering John D. Halterman today. He was a big part of the airport for the ten or so years he was based there. Big guy, big personality, big fun! Wish my children, his grandchildren, would have had a chance to know him. Borrowed this from Nigel Hitchman’s post on the Monocoupe Aircraft FB page. Thanks Nigel!

Another local automotive collection is set to hit the auction black on February 1st and 2nd over by Spirit of St. Louis airport. I hate seeing these long time local collections broken up but I guess that’s just the way it works out sometimes. If somebody wants to bid on a few of these antique fuel pumps for the museum, let’s just say I would not turn down that Texaco pump to sit next to Connie Cournoyer’s Texaco Waco ZPF. https://www.sullivanauctioneers.com//2-day-no-reserve-col/

Happy birthday to this guy somewhere in the sky! I hope you have already worn out several Waco engines. Three years ago this week we lost you and we still miss you every single day.
