We have 2 new boys at Crestwood Animal Shelter looking for their forever homes. Meet Popsicle and Domino! Popsicle was found as a stray on the side of the road during the polar vortex with cars just passing by him until someone stopped to help. He's so appreciative of being inside where it's warm and just wants your love and affection. He does well with other cats and dogs. ... Domino also found himself outside as a stray during the cold weather and a kind person took him in. Unfortunately, the person's landlord would not allow him to keep Domino. Who doesn't love black cats? This is Honey and she is one of our longest guests at the shelter. She is very sweet and loves to be petted on her terms. She mostly just lounges around and likes to bask in the sun watching the birds. She doesn't mind other kitties but mostly keeps to herself. Would you like to give this black beauty a chance at a forever home?

EMERGENCY DONATIONS NEEDED! **UPDATE 2/17 - Tinkerbell is resting with her foster and doing well. We are hoping the fluid does not come back, but she will need to be closely monitored for the next few days - her final bill came in at $2594.50 - thanks to everyone who has shared and donated** Tinkerbell is a 4 year old bulldog fighting for her life. She was picked up as a stray by Animal Control, and Crestwood Animal Shelter rescued her with high hopes to quickly find her f...orever home. Unfortunately, what was initially thought to be kennel cough was instead a severe case of pneumonia. Tinkerbell was in respiratory distress and had to be rushed to the emergency vet the first day she was in our care. She was also diagnosed with Pyometra (uterus infection) which would require emergency surgery, but Tinkerbell had to recover from her pneumonia first! Tinkberbell fought hard to recover from pneumonia in anticipation for her surgery today. However, once the doctor started the surgery they didn’t find a uterus at all; it was already gone?! During the surgery they did discover an abnormal amount of fluid in her abdomen, but we aren’t sure if the pneumonia or something else caused all the fluid. Tinkerbell is currently in stable condition, but will still require more medication and tests to continue to improve her health. We feel very fortunate that we pulled Tinkerbell from Animal Control when we did to get her the care she needed and now we need to raise funds to help cover her medical costs, which are estimated to around $3000-$4000. All she wants is to be near people and feel loved; can you please help make this wish possible for Tinkerbell and donate towards her care?

Meet Jack, Jack Daniels, or JD! We are told he is a Beagle/Min Pin mix and he is 9 months and just over 20lbs. He was surrendered to an Animal Control by no fault of his own. He loves attention and will even perform tricks for you - his photo with crazy eyes is how he stands on his back legs and spins around like a performer! We already have lots of inquires for puppies and young dogs so we think Jack will get adopted pretty quickly. If you are interested, please fill out an application at crestwoodanimalshelter.com.
