Here is the latest update for the FDA on the dilated cardiomyopathy (heart disease) and the potential risks of using pet foods that are labeled as grain free. I stand by my recommendation to avoid grain free foods until this information is understood fully. https://www.fda.gov//questions-answers-fdas-work-potential

We have several positive Covid employees that were all exposed at a wedding they attended outside of work. Those employees will be quarantining away from Crest for the appropriate time( to keep everyone they work with and take care of at Crest safe.) We are fortunate to not have anyone that is showing significant symptoms. We pray that continues for each of them. Our employees that are still currently working have tested negative and have zero signs of Covid. We wil...l continue to be vigilant with mask-wearing. We want to keep OUR CLIENTS and STAFF safe and still do our best to care for your pets. So this is where we stand for the next approximately ten days: We will only have ONE doctor available until further notice. This is.a major hardship for us. We know this. We can't fix it. Please be PATIENT. Please only come to Crest with urgent needs right now or if you have a surgery scheduled. We will only be doing drop off patients in the mornings. Dr. Lyle will work them in throughout his morning between surgeries. We ask that you please call and set up a time with our receptionists to come in the afternoon from 1-5. This will be curbside for most everything. We will be triaging all patient care and the more urgent pets will be seen first. Please try to not come and walk-in afternoons without a phone call first to see when the best time will be. We understand this is different. But please help us to help you. Call Crest if you have any questions about our process. Call Crest when you arrive to let our staff know that you are ready to be seen or drop off your pet.

We are having phone troubles and there will be on and off outages of our phone service. Please try to call our office at 816 763-1313 to make an appointment for this afternoon if your pet has an urgent/necessary medical need. We are still one doctor and short staffed. We are sorry for the complications. When it rains, it sometimes pours. We are in the middle of a hurricane. Thanks for being patient. You can also make appointments to see any of our doctors from today moving forward. We are going to experiment with some different organizational methods to see if we can do things better in respect to everyone's time management.

Due to Covid, we only have one doctor today. We are also doing curbside service instead of in person in the building.

You can also set up afternoon appointments with our doctors after the 20th of October for all your pet health care needs. You can do drop offs in the morning any time after 7 for urgent problems and concerns. Please call when you arrive at Crest to check in. We will continue to do curb-side visits for most needs till we see the virus resolving in our Crest family. Thanks for all the wonderful messages and prayers. We are reading them all and we appreciate all the support and patience.

COVID POSITIVE NEWS: We want to let everyone know that we have had one employee test positive today for Covid-19. This employee is asymptomatic and was doing a pre-surgical required test. We wear masks at Crest so at this point no one has been exposed to this positive person (within 6 feet without a mask.) We want to make sure that you have full knowledge of what is happening so you can decide if you want to come in or not. We might be switching back to curbside only for a short time. We will keep you all posted and up to date as we discuss the best way to keep everyone safe.

EDITED TO ADD: Sorry I put the wrong date for our hours change. We will be closing at 6 pm every night of the week starting October 1st. Therefore we will be closing at 6pm on this first Friday in October which is October the 2nd. I was still looking at the September calendar page and put the 4th. I can't believe it is almost October! HOURS CHANGING IN OCTOBER. We will be closing at 6pm on Mondays and Fridays beginning October 2nd.. Please know that we need y...ou to check in by 5pm to be able to be seen each day Monday through Friday. We have been busy due to many things, Covid included. Our doctors and staff are working incredibly hard and just plain work hard all day with very little breaks. We want them to get home to their families to recharge and be ready for the next day. Thanks for respecting our time by trying to come in as early in the day as possible or doing a drop off if you can't come till late. We are thankful for you and your support of Crest. See more

Edited to add: So I have been told by my staff at Crest that this is inappropriate. It has innuendos that don't just mean summer and watermelon. I am sorry. I guess I am getting OLD! I just thought it was a cute video of a guy and his dog and watermelon. So if anyone is offended and interpreting this as something else....I had NO IDEA. Like ZERO idea! So I will leave it up for now but sorry! We hope you are enjoying all the deliciousness of summer! Thanks so much for all you do to support Crest! You all are sweet and loyal and we love you!
