Hello! I just wanted to pop in and talk a little about something funny that happened the other day but also to say this: if you book a photoshoot for yourself, there's nothing to feel guilty about... and also, these photos can be JUST FOR YOU. Of course you can gift some to others but I believe first and foremost this experience is best when you step forward and do this for yourself.

"I'm not photogenic. If I'm lucky I'm going to get maybe 1... 2 images I like from my photoshoot." This is something I hear from almost every client I book in. What's really cool is that yes, you'll have a couple images you like but then you'll have many more images that you will LOVE. One of the things I've been so excited about lately is that I've started mentoring other photographers. There are so many talented, amazing photographers out there who are struggling to find clients and be paid what they're worth... and I get it. I used to be there. Because of this and my love of teaching, I am now offering business coaching for photographers looking to create a profitable business that they love. (AKA helping others get paid to do what they love!) If you are... an amazing photographer but struggle to find clients drop a "me" below and I'll reach out to you to set up a short call to dissect the hurdles going on for you and create a game plan for you to start attracting more clients with grace and ease and who will pay you what you're worth. Hey everyone! All sorts of exciting things are happening with my studio and I'm so excited to let you know what's to come soon but for now... THIS IS SUPER COOL: In the month of October I'll be offering photoshoots with these Luxe Wings or as some people are calling them the Victoria Secret wings (and yes, they're a blush pink -- sorry the lighting in my office isn't super great). I'll be offering only 10 photoshoots with these wings in Springfield, MO for the rest of the yea...r. Before / After of Cheri. Something I loved about Cheri's photoshoot (I mean besides the wings - which are just gorgeous!) was the way she came into her own right when she got out of hair and makeup styling. You see, like the majority of my clients, she hardly wears makeup - mostly because she leads a busy life and putting on a full face of makeup on doesn't work into her lifestyle.... Cheri was coming out of a slump when she booked - recovering from a bad breakup... but she had lost some weight and was starting to feel better about herself. She wanted to capture this moment, rising from the ashes and capture the inner light and strength she knew she had. The moment she got out of hair and makeup, I knew she was going to rock her photoshoot. She lit up. "WOW! Just WOW. I actually feel kinda girly." "Is that a good thing?" I asked. "Yes! I need to take a selfie... I can't believe I just said that. I hate photos of myself." ... Cheri sent me this selfie of what she looks like in her daily life because she loved her transformation and wanted others to know that the women I photograph are just like her... and probably just like YOU. They're mothers, grandmothers, working women, "not at my goal weight" women, "I'm not photogenic" women, and so on. My photo (with the wings) isn't retouched -- it's what Cheri got to see on the back of the camera during her photoshoot. She looks not just gorgeous but truly happy and at peace. This makes my heart happy :) I truly believe in the power of a photoshoot as a way to embrace yourself as you are, even if you aren't where you want to be. Even if you think you need to lose 10 more pounds. Or that you're not photogenic. Or any of the dozens of excuses I've heard from people on why they won't look good in photographs. I challenge you to have a photoshoot with me and not have a photograph you love. In fact, you'll find you love so many more. And it's such an amazing feeling to see 20, 30, 40 images that you love of yourself when you've never had that before :)
