We cut some good sticks today

Does anyone know what this curious little thing is? It was growing beside a tree we were harvesting today. It looks like a flower & a mushroom at the same time! It feels more like a fungus than a flower. We have never seen this before after years in the woods. How cool!!

One of the MANY hitchhikers on our Polaris at work today! It's time to replace the windshield. I'm tired of dodging spiders as they fly in my lap...or worse...my face! Jeremy usually uses his ninja skills & grabs them before they hit me but a few still make it through lol.

Our oldest son Micheal Conduff next to a HUGE walnut tree that measured 40 inches at 17 ft! That's a lot of footage for one walnut tree! This tree will most likely turn into some absolutely gorgeous gun stalks.

The beauty of God's creation never ceases to astound me!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately but I've been home since the covid hit with kids. I'm finally back & have to share this story! For the past few weeks Jeremy has been telling me how he & Micheal haven't had any ticks since on this property which blew me away! Micheal, our oldest son, had replaced me since March, not only with logging but also with the tick sweeper abilities. Jeremy says I could get ticks in Wal-Mart parking lot & apparently Micheal has the same "gift". I ...went 1 day last week to help speed things up. No ticks...I'm ELATED. Today Micheal went to work for his apprenticeship therefore I am back at it full time. The so called, "hill with no ticks", has obviously been laying in wait. By 10 am I was COVERED with seed ticks & according to my husband, the biggest tick he's ever seen! Tick spray is gone...I'm being eaten alive & picked off only God knows how many seed ticks! Let's just say the woods may have missed this girl; I however DID NOT!! It was a VERY long day to say the least! WELCOME BACK TO THE WOODS TORI! LOL See more

Let's celebrate our INDEPENDENCE DAY! Happy 4th of July everyone!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL THE GREAT DAD'S OUT THERE!! There was no work for this amazing man this weekend for a change!!! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful man in our lives. He's the perfect definition of a man & a father.
