Hi all. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the City of Columbia Parks and Rec has decided to close the Armory Sports Center for eight weeks. This means no classes or private lessons until further notice. Stay safe and keep training!
Sensei Will Wilkerson and Sensei Ray Walker at the 2019 Columbia Cup. Sensei Will Wilkerson founded Pine Forest Way Karate (the honorary name given to our dojo) in August of 1979. He is also the founder of the Columbia Cup. Sensei Ray Walker has since taken over both the name of Pine Forest Way Karate as well as the Columbia Cup. We couldn't be happier that the legendary Sensei Wilkerson was able to make it out to our tournament again this year!
Thanks to everyone who came out to support the 13th annual Columbia Cup. Stay tuned for more photos! @ Columbia, Missouri
Sensei El-Jayyousi competed this weekend at the Arkansas Open placing first in black belt men's traditional forms and then going on to take home the grand championship in overall forms. @ Jonesboro, Arkansas

Just finished my first training session of 2019 with Renshi Michael Karateka Norvell at his dojo . It was a great class. Lots of calisthenics, karate kata and kobudo kata. Also got a good introduction to nunchaku, tonfa, and sai. I'm going to be so sore tomorrow. Feels great!
Bo kata performed by Nagamine Takayoshi Sensei late 1960s Very unusual movements, but I remember him doing this kata up through the 1970s. From the video collection of Bill George Sensei.
Good class last night. Spent the class working on kata again. We did them at a slower pace while focusing on precise technique rather than speed or power.
Really good workout tonight. All the black belts were on deck. Ran through all 19 kata twice each with 5 pushups in between each kata. Had a guest come train with us tonight. Anna Ball, a Shotokan black belt attending Mizzou.
