Crews reported at 7 a.m., replacing the night shift, to continue responding to winter weather. Accumulation totals is forecast to be between 3-6 inches. Crews are focusing on priority routes. Extreme cold temperatures reduce the effectiveness of road treatments, so slick areas may be expected. Whenever snow accumulates more than 2 inches, vehicles parked on designated snow routes must be moved off of the roadway. While we're currently just under 2 inches of accumulation, we ask that individuals start to move vehicles off of designated routes now to assist our drivers in plowing more efficiently. While we don't currently anticipate the need to activate crews, we will continue to monitor the weather and may activate a crew response at some point during the day or overnight. Temperatures might dip to at or below freezing for a very brief period Tuesday morning. Depending on when the rain ends and ongoing drying of pavement, spotty slick conditions might develop. We recommend everyone take appropriate precautions and pay particular attention near elevated surfaces and bridge decks.
