REAL TALK One of the biggest lies in the fitness industry is that there’s a shortcut to weight loss. That it somehow comes in a supplement, a fat burner, Sa...ran Wrap or a diet (ugh!). If that were true, we’d all be skinny. Another lie is that there’s a single best way to do it. You have to think of yourself as a science project. What works for your girlfriend may not work for you. What’s best for YOU is what WORKS for you. What’s best for YOU is whatever it is you love to do enough to STAY CONSISTENT. It is NOT an overnight process, like some people would like you to believe, so you’ll buy whatever it is they’re selling. It takes work. It takes consistency. It takes patience. With that said, the other big lie is this: That you have to DIET. That you have to DEPRIVE yourself. Ummmm, NOPE. Nothing good comes from depriving yourself. We’re big believers in the 80/20 rule. 80 percent of the time eat healthy; 20 percent of the time eat what you want without any guilt! Because who wants to go through life without a cocktail or a cupcake?! Sure as heck NOT US.

We love Abby, who is a Toronto-based registered dietitian, who... pulls no punches when it comes to the lies we are often told about nutrition. For instance, let’s talk about cheat days, shall we?! We should remove that phrase from our vocabulary. Depriving yourself is never the answer. It’s not sustainable & it only makes you miserable. You know that old saying, "no pain, no gain"? Well, I don't know who came up with it, and maybe it wasn't even intended for the fitness industry, but it's defin...itely NOT the correct philosophy when moving your body. The truth is, if it hurts, DO NOT DO IT. Find an option. One that helps you get healthy and strong, not weak and injured. Take for example, a full, front plank. If it bothers your low back, try a different version of the plank. I got a couple here that may work for you. Try and hold for a few (or 15) seconds, take a break and repeat four times. Do this two more times in the next week and BOOM! You are on your way to being strong and healthy. You got this. Love you, Lors

You are stronger & more capable than you can imagine. Erika joined Boot Camp Challengewith BCC trainer, Jennifer Baca, in El Paso when we were forced to adapt..., improvise & overcome & go virtual. She showed up even though it might have felt scary or weird, but she did it anyway. The best part?! She said she’s becoming the best version of herself. Motivation doesn’t find you. You have to go get it. You have to go do that workout or take that walk THEN, the motivation to do it again & again & again comes. You will not find motivation from an inspirational quote on Instagram. You find it by taking action. See more
